The Applied Improvisation Network

Spreading the Transforming Power of Improvisation

At the risk of "tooting my own horn" I thought AIN members will be pleased to see the Sunday New York Times article in the Business section (page 4 in hard copy) that promotes improv as a tool for business:

Now we can quote the TIMES to promote improv and business!

Excellent news Patricia. I'd be really curious to hear some feedback on how it generates business. I was really surprised after our workshop went into the LA Times, Seattle Times, Today Show, radio interviews, and indirectly in the NY Times (same weekend as yours, day before) at how *little* direct business it has generated. I'm sure it will come into play later, but I've been a bit disappointed in the immediate results. The big difference between my press and yours though is that a)your business name was mentioned (ours wasn't in Today Show); your services are much more clarified and appeal to a broad audience, mine are less clear and this particular workshop appeals to a smaller audience (as of now, and in those articles particularly), and c)you and Gary have been in the business a lot longer than me. Hmmm, I guess those are some pretty good reasons! Ha! Well, its all a fun ride --lets enjoy it!

The New York Times article has been widely syndicated, including a great post in the International Wall Street Journal on line news LiveMint.com, published in Delhi! It also appeared in the TAIPEI TIMES! on the editorial page. The OREGONIAN also ran the story. Go IMPROV around the world . . .
