Interrarium exists to inspire, investigate and showcase new work in contemporary performance blurring the line between disciplines and bringing artists from diverse backgrounds together in the spirit of innovation. Interrarium is an on-going cross-disciplinary Canadian development initiative encouraging a professional knowledge transfer between creators investigating physical performative practices. It is a process-oriented, fluid, creative environment for dialogue, critical thinking and experimentation.

Explore and reveal creative process.

Through a program of art-making in a challenging trans-disciplinary environment, Interrarium aims to enable artists to own and articulate creation processes and to (re-)consider and evaluate working practices in the production of their work. Interrarium focuses on the work of extraordinary artists with international influence on the direction and perspective of contemporary performance practices.

‘cause no one creates in a vacuum.

We are looking for creating artists with a physical-based, performative contemporary practice, which may include dance, video, sound, theatre, sculpture, movement, story, performance, and digital practices… or those curious about creative process from divergent perspectives.

Study with these three extraordinary creators:

Andy Jones (St. Jones, Newfoundland)
Actor, Writer, Director and Investigative Comedian

Marie-Josée Chartier (Toronto, ON)
