The Applied Improvisation Network

Spreading the Transforming Power of Improvisation

I'm currently a Masters Student in Non Profit Leadership at the University of Pennsylvania. As part of my degree, I have been placed at the Wilma Theater to help coordinate a project. I'm responsible for the research and implementation of an initiative to bring corporations to the Wilma to participate in improv workshops geared towards productivity and better communication in the workplace.

Does anyone have any information that might be useful to get me started? I'm particularly interested in what others charge for similar workshops.

Thanks so much!!!

Miriam

Hi Miriam
Sounds like a good project.
Perhaps experiment with a short session 60-90 minutes, for free. Collect feedback on the value participants got from it, and find out what they'd like more of. Then try some sessions on different topics, or a longer sesson combining topics, charging just a bit less than the training providers in your local market who have offerings on the same topics. Please keep us posted!
Cheers, Paul Z.

Hi Miriam
Sounds like a great project.
I'd suggest experimenting to discover what will attract them and what they'll pay.
You might start to create a buzz with, say, 90-minute sessions for free. Get feedback on the value and comments on the nature and usefulness of the participants' experience.
Use these to attract the next wave to either short sessions on specific topics at the kinds of prices that the training and development companies charge in your area; or perhaps compile a longer event - half-day, one day - to cover a range of improv applications.
Best of luck, and do keep us posted. Cheers, Paul Z.
