The Applied Improvisation Network

Spreading the Transforming Power of Improvisation

Thought maybe AIN members would want to read my manifesto, Don't Script, Improvise! on Change This!, a really fine business innovation site.

The gist of it is this; In the Networked World, there's no time to script, no time or energy to waste fighting for control of the narrative ("Mission Accomplished" anyone?). The narrative, as improvisers know, is what we create collaboratively. No one controls it. And everyone does. The responsibility is both to ourselves (In Napier's words, "Take care of yourself first"), and to our communities (In Spolin's words, "Nothing is separate. In the unity of things rests growth and knowledge."). Obama is the chief improvisation officer, but all of us who've been trained in and love improvisation will have a role in the changing game.

Here's what a blogger named Valeria Maltoni says about it on her site, Conversation Agent.

Peace.
