The Applied Improvisation Network

Spreading the Transforming Power of Improvisation

I'm looking for stories about folks who have studied with Keith Johnstone. Where have you studied with him? What organization? How did you find out about Keith? Can you share stories of how your studies with Keith changed yor work and/or your life? Have you seen the documentary created for The Bravo Network titled "The World According to Keith?" I am looking forward to hearing your stories!

Hi Colleen,
I worked with Keith twice. My impro group "The Improfessionals" brought him to Paris twice a few years back. I could write down some stuff about my impressions. Do you want a word doc or just a few impressions on this site?
Mark.

Hi,

I am fascinated by the work he has done (like you?), too - did you read this interview with him, dated 2001:
http://improvisation.ca/index.php?option=com_content&task=blogs...
(it's pretty long and hard to read offscreen, I recommend printing it first)

This was my most personal "encounter" with him and I have to say (I was a bit disappointed in the man, who I had apparently secretly given genius status in my mind) - it really changed my perspective on his work.

Especially his view on the (destructive influence of the school) system (on the childlike qualities of every human).

I recommend reading it.

Will look up the documentary you mention, too! (if you have tips on how to find it...thanks!)

Tess
