Southeastern U.S. one day Regional Conference, Atlanta, GA 2/1/2014.

The AIN one day conference is a non-profit event designed to bring together a very special group of people, hopefully including you. The use of Improvisational theatre philosophy, theory, strategy, techniques, tools, and general wonder, for other than performance purposes, has been named “Applied Improvisation.” The Applied Improvisation Network is composed of more than 2,800 very interesting people, located around the world. You can meet them at http://appliedimprov.ning.com/

This gathering is open to trainers, presenters, executives, care givers, improvisers of any sort, and anyone else either active, or interested in this professoin. Improvisation experience is not required.

Our purpose is to present some basic material and to generate conversations and presentations by the participants that are appropriate to the needs of the group as actually gathered. This is an Improv Technique we call “Open Space”. We have a great location with break-out rooms in a very nice facility near the 75/285 interchange.

Among our goals is the enhancement of the presence of Applied Improvisation in the Southeastern Region where Improvisation as an art has grown to national prominence, and where innovation in the spirit of the Phoenix is a foundation.

Registration General 25.00, Students $15.00, Group rates are available. $35.00 at the door

Snacks provided.

Yes, Barry, we would love to have you guys back for that.  I think we can get a good crowd next time.  It was a blast!

Its good to talk through possibilities here on what to do where.  I'll be in contact, Brent, about the end/first of the year session you're thinking about.  My wife and I both attended one in Atlanta back there.

Hi Brent. That would work for me. Thank you.

Kristy,  Robert Lowe and I did a day back in April and plan on doing another one.  But it probably won't be until December or January. Can we put you on that list?  EMail me at brent@brentdarnell.com.  Thanks,

Barry, my schedule is slammed until the end of November, but depending on the time, I would be willing to attend.  I'll bring Robert Lowe with me if he wants to be there!

For me it would depend on the session. I am traveling from Asheville, N.C.

Hi Barry. it probably wouldnot work for me.

How many people who are reading these listings would be interested in attending some sort of session in Nashville?  There are many businesses here gearing up with training, and the (performance) improv scene is growing each year.  It would be interesting to think through a good event to have in Nashville, especially if we have enough people close enough who would be interested.

I would come to Nashville for a session.

AIN External Website

We have created and launched a new website to promote Applied Improvisation to prospective clients - AppliedImprov.com

As you know, we already have a great website for talking to each other: this new site is for us to talk to the world, letting people know the value that AI practitioners can bring to organisations and communities, as trainers, facilitators and inspirers of creativity. It also has a sensational new logo, thanks to our very own Bård Brænde.

Please take a look here, let us know how to improve the site, and recommend it to any potential clients you can think of.  If you’d like to be listed on the site as a Practitioner, then check out the sign-up process on the discussion linked to this email here.
