Dear Friends -- I'm thinking of you all out in Portland and missing what I'm sure will be another wonderful AIN conference! I'm so bummed I can't join you this year! I'm sure you'll be laughing and playing and learning and sharing all weekend. I am already saving for next year's conference and hoping I will be with everyone in 2010!
Thursday evening - If in town but not registered for pre-conference should we come to Thursday evening reception? I will be nearby and would love to meet people unless the pre-conference people are already engaged in some "private- pre-conference function". Thanks!
I plan to attend the conference and one of the pre-conference workshops but I am waiting for my generous college (I teach acting and improv) to cut a check. Is there still room for me? I live locally so housing is not an issue. I would be happy to put someone up as well.
I would assume that there is room for you, as we've never limited the number attending the conference. I am trying to save money, so I was planning to stay with a friend in Vancouver, WA and rent a car rather than stay at the hotel. However, I'd love to stay with someone else attending the conference and avoid the car rental! Please let me know if you end up attending and if I could stay with you. -Yael Schy
I will most likely be attending; it just takes a while for the wheels of bureaucracy to turn out a check and I am loathe to put any of my own precious money on the line.
I would say that staying with me, also in Vancouver, WA, is a safe bet. Accommodations are not luxurious as I will most likely be mucking out my teenage son's room, but the sheets will be clean and I promise there will be nothing to trip over as there is now. I have two houses on this property and there may also be an empty room in the other house at that time as well (I rent out rooms), so you may have a choice. It would be fun to have a buddy to share notes with. Where will you be coming from and coming in when?
Sorry it took so long for me to get back to you. My life has been hectic lately. I am flying in to Portland tomorrow evening (Wed.) and staying with my friend in Vancouver. But after the conference starts, it might be fun to stay with you and commute together. (I'm not going to the preconference, but we could meet up on thurs. night at the initial conference opening.)
I have an idea for an Open Space session, but I'll need an LCD projector to make it happen. Does anyone on the conference committee know if there will be one on site?
