Thanks so much everyone for such a great, inspiring, filling-up, thought provoking time at The Edgefield. I would have hated to miss out!

Oh, the Amtrak story continued... I almost missed my train (by 2 minutes) because I was so relaxed touring around with my twitter friend, Audrey, and AIN's Maya.

Then we were switched to buses at Bellingham because of a mudslide across the tracks in British Columbia....boy, did that lengthen the trip! But, we made it.

My new train/bus friend kept hearing me say a la "Sue Walden".. "The bad news is... the train has to stop... The good news is ...they will provide a bus...And a bus driver will be here shortly. The bad news is.... it's super windy & more dangerous....The good news is... we're a heavy bus with lots of luggage, and it's not rush hour. We turned a lot into these phrases!

I'm not sure if this drove my new friend crazy, or he was sincerely enjoying it! Thanks Sue! :)

So much info. So many great people. Such a wonderful conference. Thanks to everyone who put it all together. I loved meeting everyone! Came back to Atlanta very inspired for new adventures in 2010.

Random thoughts on a airplane.
While flying back from Portland as I was watching the sun set through the small airplane window my thoughts wondered. I wondered what it must be like to be a pilot? I wondered if pilots are passionate about being pilots? I wondered if people ever go up to a pilot and thank them for bringing them back to there loved one or for helping them to be with their dieing mother in time for her last couple of days. These days it must be pretty boring to be a pilot. Isn't computers doing most of the work anyway. I guess it mus be nice waring the uniform. But then I thought back to when air travel was just invented and there were only a few pilots. It must have been scary and exciting. They probably had gettogethers where they shared their experiences and dreamed about what air travel could be in the future. And they definitely must have been super proud and passionate about being pilots. Much like applied improv practitioners attending an AIN conference today. And then I thought what would it be like in 50 years to be an applied improv practitioner. Would it be just another job?... would computers be able to do it better than humans?... Then I saw a crack in the window and wondered what would happened if the window broke. Would the window be large enough form me to be sucked through or would I get stuck?....

Gary Hirsch convened a Portland Open Space session for folks to read what they wrote in my Adventures in MicroFiction workshop earlier, and then they also wrote & invented new games for the form ... were you there? will you send me any info or games about what happened? gosh, I'd love you forever! x denzil
