Hi Lu,

Boy has it been hard for us to connect! So sorry about my part in that, I've not been online very much this holiday.

So, its a little confusing as to which information to post and where to put it, so I've done the best I can.

I think its a good idea to use this 'asia conference' group as the main conference page as it encourages people to join the group in general.

I've added the three main pieces I know of --the reg page, the RFP and the jpg of the schedule on this page's 'info' section (above).

Remaining confusion and questions:
1. Are there different links to the the RFP, reg and schedule in Japanese?
2. You had another link in this discussion that I don't know what it goes to because the one that says 'English' is still Japanese. Is that supposed to be the conference's MAIN site? And do you want those two links on this page as well?

3. I think we might want to delete a few of your discussions on this page, as they may be redundant or confusing for people trying to get information.

I'll email this to you as well, but wanted to post it publicly/transparently for others so people can know the process we're in as well.

Look forward to talking to you and I really hope I can make it myself, we'll see....!

Warmly,
Leif

We will decide the deadline for RFPs on our call on Tuesday... If you will be joining us (I believe you volunteered to be on the program team... yes?), I will send you the list of things we will hope to accomplish on that call.

and anothe updates!!

I have group booked the hotel from March 18 - 23..
I just sent a private e-mail to Alain in order to ask him to create a web registration team..

The hotel rooms are only booked for 30 rooms.... so it is like first come first served!
The room rate is 7140yen + 650yen for breakfast per night

and....

We've decided to set up the conference fee to be 45,000yen (around $449) as
early registration
by Jan 15th.
and 50,000yen (around $499) after Jan 16th.
and the pre-conference fee to be 15,000yen (around $149) as early
registration by Jan 15th and
20,000 yen ($199) after
Jan 16th.

The conference fee includes :
the kick-off dinner, All three-day-lunch, The second-day-banquet at
Karaoke Party
welcome package ( useful Japanese language and culture book, your own
chopsticks, conf-original T-shirt)
and some more surprise!

The preconference fee includes ;
the pre-conf-dinner and welcome drinks, lunch, and some surprise!

I thought I wanted to set it in dollars... but due to the recent fractuation of exchange rate.. I thought it would be safer to set it in Japanese yen..

I am now working on the optional trips before and after the conference!
I'll keep you posted!!
