I wonder if Contact Improv would be of benefit to corporations - it certainly changed my outlook on relationships. It seems to me that touch outside a sexual context has such power to release people from so much built up tension. Anyone else into Contact Improv here?

Hey you Londonites, I just saw this really fun group/festival and thought of you -perhaps some of you are already involved:

Hi all,
I am very excited having found this site and the group. I am a comedian and coach. I use improvisation extensively in my performances within corporations. I hope to meet you all soon.

Hello. I just moved to London and will be here for the better part of a year. Hoping to connect with some of you in person. Are there regular meetings of the London group?

My "duh!" -- I may be coming in May not March... easy to get confused when they both start with M. For sure in October... You can plan on that!

Hi
Idea for a topic: improvisation, collaboration and technology

My organisation, for example, is big into innovation and collaborative work. We use all sorts of technology in addition to e-mail, webconferences, webseminars, MSN and other Instant Messaging tools... it's certainly very collaborative but not necessarily creative...

Outside work, I do improvisational theatre (as well as text-based) and I enjoy watching the professional impro leagues (match or catch), that is certainly very artistic but not necessarily technological...

How about mixing the two?

(and if anyone is interested in practicing improv by chat, a bit like free-form text-based roleplaying, I've created a Group on here called Improv by Chat, yet to be experimented... so feel free)

So chat soon and best regards,
Tania

Bellina, I use improv for idea generation, and would be happy to show how I marry classic improv tools to the idea generation/innovation process. Gregg

Okay... I joined! And, if I am coming over in March, I will be happy to do a presentation, if appropriate. For sure in October.

Grin!

Dear London Group AINers,

We now have two speakers in place for our Applied Improvisation Network meetings next year:
Thursday January 29: Raymond van Driel - a workshop about the application of status in organisations
Monday April 20: Cyriel Kortleven - on using improvisation to boost your creativity

We are now looking to you for ideas/speakers for a February and March event. Can you please let us know:
1) What topics you'd like in these meetings
2) If you'd like to offer one of these sessions on applied improvisation
3) Any venue requirements above/beyond the current venue (an office board room)

We are looking for sessions which explore some aspect of applied improvisation. They need to be experiential – to keep the group actively involved – and they may include elements of experimentation.
Each session is an hour long, and starts after 30 minutes of AIN introductions and business discussions. Everyone is then invited to continue the discussions over drinks and a dinner, if their time and budget permit.

We look forward to hearing from you!

Best wishes,
Belina (AIN London Group Event Programme Commander)
and Paul Z Jackson (AIN President)
