The Applied Improvisation Network

Spreading the Transforming Power of Improvisation

Hi all,
Is there any discussion about organizing the next European Conference in 2010?
Any date? Any location? Who decides?
What needs to be done to start the process?
Cheers,
Fred

Amsterdam is a great choice for the next AIN conference.
Even if it is not taking place in France or in Germany, I can support the organisation.
What happens next?

Have just spent a weekend in Oxford, for the IAF facilitators' conference. Lots of good conference facilities, in a very attractive city, so there's another possibility. How to decide? Someone willing to lead the organisation of a conference. Someone with familiarity with AIN conferences either in Europe or USA or possibly both. Someone with others nearby to do 'on the ground' recon and preparations. Someone with access to discounted or free facilities (a university department, perhaps). Other ideas?

Hi Fred
There are whisperings...
I think it would be a great idea to have a conference in Europe in 2010. Perhaps instead of a major North American conference - so NA could have something a bit different, like a retreat or an intensive study group - or as well.
To be as internationally attractive as possible, we might look at London, Amsterdam, a major German city, or Paris.
So, the process has started, and will continue to emerge as people put energy into preferences and into actions.
Cheers, Paul

Hi Paul,
Thanks for your answer.
Martin Ciesielski is planning an event in March in Berlin. Maybe the two could be joined.
Otherwise I would love to help if it is taking place in Paris.
Cheers,
Fred

how about Sweden?

Paris, Berlin, Heidelberg - I'll be happy to help.
Kerstin, Sweden would be difficult for me to help organizing :)

Kerstin, you're right, somehow. And I would love to help looking for locations and be onsite - for this Sweden is a little bit far away, and I do not speak or even understand the language. These are my challenges.
IF someone (who, by the way?) would decide to hold the conference in Sweden, we/I would find a way to make me work ;)
All the best
Roswitha
