The Applied Improvisation Network

Spreading the Transforming Power of Improvisation

Portland '09

Come explore how we apply improv at work, at play, and all
areas in between.

The AIN is a community of practitioners and clients who
value the use of improvisation skills in organizations to:
improve relationships, increase authenticity, promote
spontaneity, engender trust, build communities of practice.

AIN 2009 Conference

November 13 - 15th, 2009
Pre-conference, November 12, 2009
Portland (Troutdale), Oregon
At the fabulous Edgefield Manor

Apply THIS! is the theme of the Eighth Annual Applied
Improv Network (AIN) conference. This year we’ll gather near
Portland, Oregon to share ideas and approaches; ask
questions of ourselves and others; dream of (and poke
around at) answers; play; and flex our applied improvisa-
tional muscles. The generosity is contagious, and the
essence of this conference is a hands-on, head & heart
smart learning experience.

Dates:
November 12th: Preconference
(Attending the pre-conference provides an opportunity to
attend a full-day workshop and dive deep into one subject
area, as well as connect more intimately with others before
the conference begins.)

November 13 –15th: Full conference
Three days of content-rich, interactive workshops, plenaries
and keynotes, as well as an improv jam and interview of a
noted name in improv.

Costs:
  • The conference fee is $479.
  • Pre-conference is $199.
  • Book your room at The Edgefield Manor here. Paul Z Jackson has written up detailed help on booking rooms here.

What’s included in the price of the PRE-CONFERENCE:
  • Attendence at your pre-conference of choice.
  • Lunch and snacks.
What's included in the price of the CONFERENCE:
  • Three full days of plenaries and workshops.
  • Lunch and snacks during all three days, with an opening night reception on Thursday, and dinner on Friday night.

Is anyone passing through Corvalis, OR on their way to the pre-conference? (It's about 1.5 hrs South of Portland). We have a seeing impaired person who's interested in attending a pre-conf but needs transportation.

Contact me and I'll give you her phone #.
