They're actively (aka desperately) seeking participants; offering greatly discounted rates.
Several of our local AIN artists will be presenting.
I'm volunteering; should be interesting!
I posted info under events:
http://appliedimprov.ning.com...
AIN members Richard Cox, Holly Thorsen and Nan Crawford are presenters.
Should be interesting, and the Bay Area OD network is offering discounted registration rates.

I am producing a fundraiser. After the appeal is made we are surprised to see people sitting quietly while the cellist play her lively rendition. In a spontaneous impulse to create movement (specifically of people reaching into pockets for cash and checks) I leap to my feet, pick up the donation basked, and begin dancing around the room. Almost as if ice were breaking, people rise to their feet, join me...and the cash begins to flow!

Drewman,
thanks for the note and the connection here. More of this soon and not so soon. much love to you. Now go back and answer all my questions when you have time.

I am a peacebuilder, actor and musician here in Lebanon (and a combination of all three most of the time). So I'm dealing with those sorts of "actions" all the time. Any given person in this region is always faced with these issues, so let alone a peace artist. Memory is a huge issue we deal with, especially when it comes to reconciliation. Waltz with Bashir had a lot of subthemes about that. I can relate to that a lot; as a person and as a peacebuilder in Lebanon and the region.
I am glad to hear about the efforts you and your girlfriend are carrying out. Courage, my friend. We always say that those who "work for war" are very hard workers (even though destruction is very easy); thus, we should be 10 times the hard workers that they are if we really want to have an effect and make a change, especially through art.
I am glad we connected. Please, do keep in touch and let's capitalize on this connection and try to look for productive synergies.

It's such a coincidence to hear from you about Waltz with Bashir. I had just watched it today as well and I'm still trying to get over it, actually.
It is forbidden here in Lebanon, so I was able to get a copied screening-purpose copy from a friend in London.
Yes, I hope I'll hear from you later as well :)
