Across the country from our home base, we once were presented with a surprise hour and a half to create a fully costumed character, on-message, with a themed pitch for a trade show client. (We usually spend weeks creating & honing our characters!) We ran out the door, scouring area tourist boutiques on foot for suitable vibrant outfit pieces. 90 minutes later, we were in the van on the way to the show, applying make-up in the mirror and practicing our character's voice and talking points with the marketing director. We heard later that trade show attendees across the floor were asking each other if they had seen our character yet! Our client was delighted with the response from prospects we sent to his booth!
