My official Bio:
Dave Cox An amphibian, Dave is fond of pie. Does he look familiar? Maybe you grew up in Illinois, or attended the University of Houston, or worked comedy clubs across this great nation. Maybe you studied or worked or performed with ComedySportz, or the Groundlings, or Improv Olympic, or ACME, or bang!. Are you a professional, award winning magician, a writer for Paramount, HBO, or VH-1, or a player of jazz tuba? Were you in "Teenage Catgirls in Heat" or "Baseketball" or did you co-host "Arena" for the G4 network? Are you also a national spokesperson for Red Robin Restaurants? Did he teach you improvisation, dialects, Improv Shakespeare, or an important lesson about sharing? Maybe you saw him at The Magic Castle or The Improv or in "Opening Night: The Improvised Musical!" or "The Spontaneous Shakespeare Company" or the "Liquid Radio Players" or at ACME Comedy Theater. Maybe he just looks a little like Noah Wylie. One thing is for sure: he's very serious about the pie thing.
Magic History Bio:
I have been performing my Mischievous Magical Mayhem professionally for 20 plus years, starting as a wee lad in a teeny tiny top hat. I made good, and went on to win awards, direct other magicians’ shows, and to perform all over this country, at sea, and abroad. When I was only 10 years old, I took out an ad in the local paper in Virden Illinois – “Dave Cox: Boy Magician.” I charged $25 per show. I remember how worried my mother was when I decided to stop mowing so many yards, and raised my price to $30. Luckily, for the sake of my darling daughter, I make a little more, now. For the past several years, I've been working mainly in comedy clubs like ACME, The Comedy Store, and the Improv, and for private and corporate events, amazing and delighting companies like IBM, Apple, Rysher Entertainment, Miller Beer, AT&T, RJR Nabisco, the world famous Magic Castle, and many, many others. I also cruise for Princess Cruise Lines and Norwegian Cruise Lines for magical purposes (and, of course, for magical porpoises). When I was 16, I was awarded the prestigious magician’s award, “Best in the Midwest” at the Midwest Magic Jubilee. I've pretty much just been riding that ever since.
Thanks for stopping by.
