Well... some people say that life is a game.... Your reply just reminded me how easily one overlooks the most simple and useful solutions. My reply to your discussion came 5 month late... hope it was of some use to you. Regards, Hanneke

not a game as such, but if you compliment your son honestly everyday this should help. As long as your are truly being honest and not forcing one, this will allow him to accept compliments.

Hi there, do you know of any games for two , or for two people using say 3 to 4 puppets as 2 competing improv teams? I like to use these to help my 11 yr. old son become socially more relaxed, after having been traumatised by schoolchildren at the…

Hi Nathan, have you heard of Artists meet Autism? It's an improv inititiative from Deniz Dohler and his wife, two improv-artists in Berlin. It is inspired on the Son-Rise Method of the Option Institute. Option / Son-Rise holds the filosofy that…

More about you: (Short Bio or any other details you'd like people to know)
25 years ago a little seed was planted in my soul: the Option Method the Kaufman's used to cure their son from autism.
Recently I used Option to help my son recover from a conversion disorder (blindness) and help him increase his social skills.
To see the product of our play sessions: check out my sons you tube channel "ant0nj0han" !
Meanwhile I stumbled upon Artists meet Autism and the concept fascinates me.
All this reminded me how much I always wanted to do this professionally. And since I lost my job as a programmer anyway... now is the moment.
I need help with...
Everything that involves Improv. But preferably anything that deals with therapeutical play or story telling combined with impro techniques.

Thank you for your reply, I hadn't seen it till you said so on your discussion.

I had heard of both before, but your clarification is highly useful.

So if you plan on doing precisely what I am wanting to do, what is your strategy to do it. Volunteer to a family?

Thanks.

Welcome to our community, Hanneke. I think you'll find a lot of people within AIN (me included) who think they need help with "everything that involves Improv!" Many of us feel like beginners, many of us are beginners, and even our wily veterans remind us that they too are learning along with us...glad to see you here.
