Joey served his community as an elected Councilman in Flemington, NJ, and is a practicing attorney. Joey graduated the Advanced Mediation Techniques course given by the Program on Negotiation at Harvard Law School. He is an honors graduate of the prestigious Leadership New Jersey Fellowship Program.

He has taught hundreds of public and elected officials from around the country the benefits of skills derived of improvisation. Joey Novick has presented his improv workshops to dozens of state leagues of municipalities and to the National League Of Cities, and the National Association Of County Officials.

He’s appeared on MTV, Rascal's Comedy Hour, and Comedy Central. and been featured regularly at Catch A Rising Star, the Comedy Zone and Dangerfield's and at scores of comedy venues across the country. He's opened in concert for comedy legends Jerry Seinfeld, Ray Romano, Paul Reiser, Chris Rock, Robert Klein and Rosie O'Donnell.

As an improv actor, he's studied with improvisational theater director and improv guru, Del Close, Paul Sills, Second City training director Martin deMaat, the Loose Moose Theater Company and Martin Harvey Friedberg at the Improvisation comedy club in NYC.

Joey has taught improv for more than twenty-five years for several improv groups and improvisation conferences including ComedyWorks in NYC, the Spontaneous Combustion Festival in Kansas City, the Stress Factory comedy club in NJ, and at the New School for Social Research.

Joey's corporate clients include many Fortune 500 companies including AT&T, Johnson & Johnson, MetLife, Resorts Casino Hotel, New Jersey state government and Merrill Lynch. His humor workshops have been prominently featured in the New York Times, the AP Newswire, Washington Post, Newark Star-Ledger, on ABC News and National Public Radio.

Graduates include award-winning comedy writers for TV sitcoms, lawyers, teachers, psychologists, public officials, corporate executives, and many other outstanding humor speakers/trainers. Prominent students have included film star and comedian Damon Wayans from "In Living Color" and "My Wife and Kids"; "Spin City" producer Tom Hertz; and noted actor Peter Onorati from "Civil Wars" and "Goodfellas".
