AIN, Banff, 2007. Wow! I knew that improvisation had seriously altered my life's path, but I never imagined there was this amazing global network of the similarly transformed. Those few days in Banff was a 'homecoming' for me - even though I hadn't met most of you before. I do look forward to the next reunion. Thank you all for your generous spirit of play and purpose.
Hi Kathleen... thanks for your comments, and I will share them with Alieke when I meet her for dinner.
And, I totally agree... and will continue to interview people on how they do their work and offer this piece of the puzzle.
Coincidentally, I am typing up the How chart as we "speak". I will send it to Leif as soon as I am done so he can post it. If you want me to send it to you as an Excel doc along with our other charts, I will... just send me your "outside-of-this-ning" email address.
:D
Thank you for your note. I would love to meet up with you when you're over here mid-July. Winchester isn't that far away and trains go into Waterloo station (where mine go in to). Let me know the dates and we'll work something out. Shall I rally the London AINers for a meal out somewhere?
helloooo Colleen! great to hear from you. glad your workshop with Keith went well. He's amazing,
no doubt about it. Yes, Rebecca's been teaching for me this winter, as I was scooped off into a cross-faculty project by my Dean. Her show was great. I think the best way to connect with her would be through her blog, 'losing my mind' at http://www.northan.com/.
I think you can order 'something like a drug' through amazon. I'm busy with end of term grading today and it's snowing like crazy, big flakes piling up on the heads of the songbirds like crazy toques (socking caps to you?).
I'm off on sabbatical this summer and hope to spend some time in New York. I'll keep you posted in case I can drop in for a visit.
Dear Kathleen,
So Keith finally made it to Chattanooga after a terrible time with trying to get his visa...when he finally arrived he told us all about the performance Rebecca Northan created .."Blind Date". Did you see it at the Moose? Keith was VERY impressed with the performance! He said Rebecca is at the University of Calgary now for a time...perhaps filling in for a professor on leave? I would love to get in touch with Rebecca and see if she is performing this anywhere...Keith said he saw the final performance of the show at the Moose.
Zach is on Keith's Trance Masks video with Steve Jarand from last summer...we want to get Steve to come to Chattanooga too, but he told Zach that coming to the States was difficult...we have to solve this international problem...have you been here to the States to teach Kathleen? Would you be interested in coming?
let's stay in touch...and I am very inetrested in "The unauthorized oral history of Theatresports" by you and Clem. How do I get it?
thanks Kathleen...I'd love to hear more about your work..

Kathleen - I think I have a job at Jackson, Alberta in July with Apple Canada. Something about Ice Fields and a 4 hour drive from Edmonton. I'm trying to arrange it so I can rent a car and travel via Calgary - thus visiting old friends! Where will YOU be on July 7th or 8th? - Rebecca
John Turner! Please give him a big hug from me! I'm AD of the impro group here. We are in the final week of the comedy festival and beginning prep for our next impro show. We don't have a space so we do seasons in different venues. I have a copy of the mask DVD and I am starting mask work with the group here. Oz is pretty cool and I love waking to the parrots. xo
