More about you: (Short Bio or any other details you'd like people to know)
I'm working to bring the joy of improv to hospitalized patients and their families.
Who could benefit more from the way improv teaches us to bond with others, fearlessly face uncertainty and be present in each moment? Improv's emphasis on trust, cooperation and generosity allows people to be less fearful and experience the inherent joy of being playful and spontaneous.
Through improv games, participants bond with others going through similar experiences and have a ridiculous amount of fun, all while reaping the many well-established medical benefits of laughter. Just to name a few - laughing lowers blood pressure, boosts immune function, reduces stress hormones, and triggers the release of endorphins - the body's natural painkillers!
Hi Gary - I think you'll find this resource helpful:
http://nyctheatrespaces.org/theatre_search.html
It's a database of theater spaces in NYC that you can search by location, rate, size, amenities, etc.
Hope it helps!
