I teach acting and "Improv for Theater and Life" at the college level, a class that combines the skills of improvisation with learning how to apply it to the student's private and professional world. I have been an applied theater entrepreneur for thirty years working primarily with people who are in difficult places, those incarcerated, addicted, with low self esteem, with physical or mental disabilities, the homeless, lately the poor who cannot get a place to live. Give me a group in need of feeling more alive or addressing some issue and I can usually figure out how to apply improv to it.

I am also an improvisatory singer/soundmaker. I sometimes record these efforts, a changing sampling of which can be heard at myspace.com/marciamcreynolds.

I wish to get out into the world more, to be inspired by all of you, and to share with you what I know about this work.

Teaching at the college level, singing improvisationally, lyrics and music, teaching research scientists how to "visceralize" their theories in order to get closer to solving or prooving them.

Share a favorite 'improv epiphany'

As long as I have a motivation and or an image, I can create, handle anything.

The word "visceralization," to feel inside what I am seeing simlutaneously.

Started an applied theater program by accident back in the 70'sat Virgnia Commonwealth University, been doing it ever since. Live it. am it. So weird I don't know where to fit in. Maybe your club.

I need help with...

with language for what I.we do. Meeting people who want to work with me (it's lonely over here). Making more money at it. Convincing a college of the merits of a full time applied theatre program.
