Well, I did THREE connections, and it went well, in a class of about 80 students of positive psychology. They really did connect, and were in a good state thereafter to appreciate a British sense of humour. Apparently.

PAUL Z JACKSON is an inspirational consultant, coach and facilitator, who devises and runs training courses and development programmes in change management, leadership, teamwork, creativity and innovation.

His expertise in improvisation, accelerated learning and the solutions focus approach has attracted corporate clients and public organisations, ranging from Ashridge Business School to Procter and Gamble, from local authorities to top five accountants and Greenpeace UK.

As a journalist, a senior producer with BBC Radio and as the founder of the More Fool Us improvisation comedy team, he has prompted a lot of laughter, on-stage and off, mostly intentionally. Paul is a co-founder of both SOLWORLD and the Applied Improvisation Network.

A graduate of Oxford University, contributor to scholarly publications and international conferences as keynote speaker and workshop presenter, he lives in St Albans.

His books, Impro Learning and 58½ Ways to Improvise in Training are published by Gower; The Inspirational Trainer is published by Kogan Page, and The Solutions Focus (co-written with Mark McKergow) is published by Nicholas Brealey.

Hello from the president. I notice that more than a thousand of us have signed up to be part of the AIN. I’m guessing that means we all have an interest in developing the field of applied improvisation – perhaps to generate more work for ourselves, or to learn more about how improvisation can impact the world of organisations and communities.

I contacted Belina and we will see what she says. Certainly, I am aware of your book so I'd like to get it to the conference as well. I won't be able to attend the conference as I am handling book sales for the much larger Evolution of Psychotherapy Conference being held in Anaheim in December. If you are curious about that one - go to www.evolutionofpsychotherapy.com. They expect 7,000 people!
