Share a favorite 'improv epiphany'

During a recent improvised performance/ presentation at a conference I decided to sing some poems aloud, starting with the first line "joy can't hide here". As i continued to alternate between singing and speaking other poems, I used that first sung line as a refrain, which helped me to keep focused and to bring the audience into the moment.

i love showing up in a classroom or on stage and not knowing what will happen next. i also get nervous, and anxious. A friend recently told me that she found it compelling how i channel my fear of being rejected by an audience by allowing myself to improvise, and thus I rely on the conversation that emerges spontaneously, with myself and with the audience, to see me through my fears while staying true to what is happening moment to moment.
