How to Facilitate WOW! Events (that keep people coming back for more) slideshare

If I had presented this year at the conference, I would likely have done something like this. These are the slides from my recent event "How to Facilitate WOW! Events that Keep People Coming Back for More", presented to 50 entrepreneurs and group leaders in the Seattle area. It's not polished, but there are enough goodies in there to keep you AIN'ers entertained. I think you'… Continue

Welcome home, and where to find post-conference goodies

Welcome home to 100+ of you Portland conference attendees, and to the 1083 other of you -welcome to the fruits of our fun & labor! ;) We missed seeing you and look forward to seeing you on the site and at future upcoming events. What a wonderful 3-4 days we have had together: tons of stimulating conversations and fun new interactivities; tons of rich new relationships and loving re-connections; tons of 'apply this' that we're each itching to bring back into our various businesses. Laughter,… Continue

Improv'd 'social media' session trumps powerpoint

Just wanted to share a recent rewarding experience, where I took an 'improv' risk with a group that was not expecting to interact. A few weeks ago I presented at Seattle Bizjam on "Building Rich Online Communities". After each of the first few sessions, I kept hearing attendees sharing how they were feeling info-overloaded, tired of Powerpoint presentations, e… Continue

First AIN Open Conference Call Today

Well, we had our first open AIN conf call today and it was a blast. There were five of us total (Missy Whitis, Sue Walden, Roy Kaufman, Matt Weinstein and myself.) After some humorous technical difficulties (first time using this technology, still not sure whether we'll use this or TalkShoe.com...I need to think about it), we discussed:
  • Introductions and how biz was going
  • Site features and requests
  • How to make this site more useful for business
  • An idea of 'rew

Today Show Video

Well the Today Show aired their story about our workshop today. Overall, it was a good story (especially when you compare it to the stuff before and after.) It gives folks both a taste of our facilitation style, and introduces the topic of 'sustainable technology' enough to wet viewer's appetites (I hope). I was a little disappointed that they didn't mention our specific business names, but will still be a great clip to refer folks to in the future. I'll try and embed it here...Nope didn't work… Continue

LA Times catches Spark’s fire about Soul-Tech...

It's fun when a 'maybe' turns into an actuality. Many of you know me only from my developing this geeky site, now you'll see my other side when it comes to technology...

Last week I received a call from a freelance journalist who usually writes for the LA Times (Stuart Glascock). He had somehow come across one of ouContinue

This new AIN social networking site, and more...

What I really want to do is to write and process my experience at my first AIN conference in Banff. However, I have soooo much going on and so much to digest, that I think it will have to wait until later.
