The Applied Improvisation Network

Spreading the Transforming Power of Improvisation

the President emailed (wow!) and suggested that we each try to take our "smallest steps" for AIN (and our networking/interaction within the AIN).

My smallest steps
1) try out this blogging thing-a-majing
2) write down twitter address for AIN (somewhere I won't lose it)
3) post re Laughing Stock class this Saturday in San Francisco, with William Hall, the future ones with Chris Sams, Lisa Klein and Rich Cox,
4) catch up on the blog posts, forum discussions, new members
5) start transcribing games/exercises that I developed from Robert McKee's theories of writing screenplays into entries in AIN
6) be sure my friends in Oregon know about the conference
7) breathe...

Relevant quote from Paul's email
"So, what's the smallest step you'd like to take to contribute to this development: is it setting up or attending a local chapter, registering for the Portland conference, greeting someone on the site who sounds interesting to connect with, adding a line to a Forum discussion, putting yourself on the member map? Or something spontaneously else? "

Ann...good work.

I am very interested in the exercises you've developed from Robert McKee's theories.

I remember reading (?) that Robert McKee says he can't teach you how to write a good story...but he knows one when he reads it. Interesting....maybe I should find a cite for that...instead of just typing it.

My step: this reply.

Thanks Ann.
