Hey - sorry your question has been unanswered for so long. My best way to resolve conflict is - in a VERY abridget form;

1) Make everyone involved write down what their *personal* wish for the outcome should be. Ask people to be as specific as possible on this one, and yes - they need to write it in cleartext - preferably one sentence
2) Pair people up (2 peopl only - max one group of 3 if odd numbers) and make them write their united outcome. Again - as specific as possible
3) repeat 2) if more than 5 people are involved
4) Get a flipover and make all participate in designing the final desired outcome. Your basis is 2 max 3 sentences from the grouped participants.
5) Use improv theory and games to design the road to that outcome.

Feel free to contact me again - this is a method we developen @ www.curious.no

All the best,
Bård

Hey,
thanks for your interest in our festival. The festival works like that, that we offer seven to eight workshops (which will take this year between 22nd and 25th of October) for participants of different experience-levels. The improvisers register for these workshops and pay a workshop fee of between 145 and 165 euros which already includes the accomodation and food. The travel costs are paid by the participants themselves as well as the tickets for the shows. There is usually one free show for festival-participants every evening, but it is not guranteed that it will be an English one... Festival-participants mostly get the chance to perform in mixed shows as well, if they want to.

The shows are mostly played by improvisers who come to the festival to participate in a workshop or to teach a workshop. Very seldom we invite improvisers just to show a format that they are working on. If we decide to do this, we usually pay these improvisers accomodation and travel-costs, but no fee for the show.

There are usually about 12 shows taking place during the festival, last year we had 3-4 international ones. The rest of the shows will probably be in German again.

There will be at least one workshop in English this year again, it will be held by Kevin and Arlen from Rapid Fire (Edminton, Canada).

Any more questions? Does that help you so far?
What is your group working on?
What would you be interested in?
Best regards,

Nadine

Hi, Raffi, thank you for ur note. I think it is wonderful that u r starting this new thing in Lebanon and the whole Middle East?! The culture there is very mysterious to me.
Anyway, I have too many things in my life now that I probably need to say no for now. Our community here is going to be quite busy in bringing the WOSonOS (World Open Space on Open Space) and IAF Asia Conference (International Assoc. of Facilitators) to Taipei this year.

BTW, r u going to the AIN Asian Conferene at Tokyo from 3/19-22? I am going. And the 2 international conferences I just mentioned will be in Aug. and Oct., u r very welcomed to visit my city. If u r interested, let me know, then I will send more info to u.

Do let me how u r doing on establishing this Improv thing at Lebanon.

Cheers!
Elizabeth

Raffi,
Thanks for your note. It sounds interesting. I have worked for years on the corporate side as a qualitative research consultant. It has been a great way to bring my social work skills (MSW in group work) into the private sector along with my movement/theatre artist skills.
I am always intrigued with improving the creative capacity of any person, regardless of their own estimation of their "artistic or aesthetic" abilities.
I must say I am working as a director of a alternative mental health agency in the US right now and may not be available enough to develop this venture you are undertaking, but perhaps I can help a bit. Keep me in the loop.
Best regards,
Jeff Bliss

Hi Raffi -- welcome to the network! Delighted to have you aboard... and you get to be the pioneer in your country with connections to a group of people who go back over 20 years (29 in my case). I was a US pioneer, so know your challenges. Glad we are here to add credibility to your efforts.
